12 November, 2025
The Commissioner General of the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), Mr. Yusuph Juma Mwenda, has extended condolences to taxpayers, TRA staff, and all Tanzanians who were affected in various ways by the challenges experienced during the general election held on October 29, 2025.
During his visit to the Ilala and Kariakoo Tax Regions, where he met with taxpayers and staff, CG Mwenda said that TRA was deeply touched by what happened and that it will continue to provide quality services, listen to taxpayers, and address their challenges.
He stated that despite the impact suffered by TRA staff and the damage to some properties, staff members should enhance professionalism, efficiency, and accountability in serving taxpayers in their respective areas to uphold the spirit of caring for taxpayers.
“Our priority at TRA is taxpayers and their businesses ensuring they are safe and their businesses continue to grow. Therefore, I extend my sympathy to all those who experienced challenges and promise that we will continue to stay close to them, listen to them, and provide assistance where possible in accordance with the law,” said CG Mwenda.
CG Mwenda added that in areas where offices experienced challenges, services are continuing as usual, and taxpayers in those areas have already been notified.
Among the taxpayers who spoke with CG Mwenda was Mr. Salim Virani from Kariakoo, Dar es Salaam, who said that they are satisfied with the services provided by TRA.
The End.
