TRA COMMISSIONER GENERAL PARTICIPATES IN MINISTERIAL TAX POLICY ADVISORY SESSIONS

The Commissioner General of the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), Mr. Yusuph Juma Mwenda, took part in the Tax Policy Think Tank Committee meetings held on 5 June 2026 at the Kambarage Conference Hall, Treasury Offices in Dodoma. The sessions were chaired by the Minister for Finance, Hon. Ambassador Khamis Mussa Omar.
During the meetings, the Government announced that it had received a total of 727 proposals from stakeholders across the public and private sectors. These submissions focus on improving the tax system, levies, and various charges as part of preparations for the 2026/2027 National Budget. The proposed measures are intended to strengthen the business environment, attract investment, and support overall economic growth.
The participation of the TRA Commissioner General reflects the Authority’s commitment to fostering collaboration with stakeholders in enhancing tax administration, improving revenue collection efficiency, and supporting the Government’s efforts to drive economic development through domestic resource mobilization and private sector engagement.
The Think Tank Committee advising the Minister for Finance comprises experts and representatives from diverse sectors, including central government institutions, public authorities, and private sector stakeholders such as business associations, investors, and trade organizations.
