PRESIDENTIAL TAX REFORM COMMISSION MEETS WITH TRA

The Presidential Commission for Tax Reforms, led by its Vice Chairperson Ambassador Maimuna Tarishi, today, May 16, 2025, held discussions with the management of the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), headed by Deputy Commissioner General Mr. Mcha Hassan Mcha, in Dar es Salaam.
Speaking after the joint session aimed at collecting views on tax reforms, Ambassador Tarishi stated that this was the second meeting with TRA, intended to jointly review some of the feedback received from citizens. She emphasized that this collaboration is a result of the strong relationship between TRA and the Presidential Commission.
Ambassador Maimuna commended TRA for its significant efforts in tax collection and expressed her belief that the feedback being gathered will lead to major improvements once the final report is completed and submitted to the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
On his part, TRA Deputy Commissioner General Mr. Mcha Hassan Mcha said they have provided constructive input aimed at expanding the tax base by establishing systems that can reach all income earners, enabling them to pay taxes and contribute to national development.
