The District Commissioner of Kyela District in Mbeya Region, Hon. Josephine Manase, has commended the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) for maintaining a peaceful tax collection environment that continues to facilitate the implementation of development projects.
Speaking during a visit by the TRA Board of Directors led by its Chairman, Mr. Uledi Abbas Mussa, alongside the Authority’s management team headed by Commissioner General Mr. Yusuph Juma Mwenda on May 22, 2026, Hon. Manase said Kyela District has greatly benefited from development projects funded through taxpayers’ contributions.
She noted that the calm and inclusive approach adopted in tax administration, coupled with continuous taxpayer education, has strengthened public trust in TRA and encouraged voluntary tax compliance.
“In our district, businesspeople are paying taxes without unnecessary challenges, a situation that has enabled us to perform well in revenue collection and surpass the targets set by the Government,” said Hon. Manase.
On his part, TRA Board Chairman Mr. Uledi Abbas Mussa thanked and congratulated the District Commissioner for her continued cooperation with TRA officers in supporting efficient tax collection efforts within the district.
He explained that the TRA Board and Management have been working together to create a more friendly and simplified tax administration system, which has contributed to the increase in voluntary tax payments across the country.
TRA Commissioner General Mr. Yusuph Juma Mwenda said the Authority will continue supporting businesses through its special Business Facilitation Desk by listening to taxpayers and addressing their challenges. He also called upon all TRA leaders and staff nationwide to continue delivering quality services to taxpayers.
