BAKHRESA COMMENDS TRA FOR PROVIDING TAX EDUCATION AND ADDRESSING TAX CHALLENGES

The High Net-worth Individual Taxpayer, Mr. Saidi Salim Bakhresa, has commended the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) for its ongoing efforts to provide tax education and address challenges faced by businesspeople in the country.

Speaking on, June 11, 2025, in Dar es Salaam during a visit by a TRA team led by the Deputy Commissioner for Large Taxpayers, Mr. Gabriel Kimweri, to his office, Mr. Bakhresa emphasized the importance of TRA in reaching all eligible taxpayers to contribute to the nation's development.

“It is a very commendable step that TRA continues to provide education and assist businesspeople in overcoming tax challenges. I advise all those required to pay taxes to fulfill their obligations fully so that we can build a better nation. Everyone should carry out their duties and also receive their rights fairly,” said Bakhresa.

On behalf of TRA, the Deputy Commissioner for Large Taxpayers, Mr. Gabriel Kimweri, reiterated that TRA will continue to strengthen its efforts to offer tax education and solve stakeholders' challenges especially during the month of June 2025, which is a special campaign period dedicated to education and resolving tax issues.

“This campaign is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure that stakeholders properly understand tax matters and get quick solutions to the challenges they face. We are doing our best to reach as many people as possible,” said Mr. Kimweri.

This campaign was officially launched by the TRA Commissioner General, Mr. Yusuph Juma Mwenda, on June 6, 2025, marking the final month of the 2024/2025 financial year.

The goal of the campaign is to enhance stakeholders’ understanding of their tax obligations and to provide direct support to businesspeople facing various tax challenges.
